A Note From The Designer
On Color & Craft
The hardest part of building HSW isn’t design. It’s communication — getting what’s in my head to match what exists in a factory across the world, in different lighting, on different screens.
This jacket is a good example. Same fabric, three different photos, three different shades of brown. That’s not an error — that’s fur under different light.
I chose this faux fur intentionally. It’s engineered to move and photograph like real fur — the depth, the sheen, the weight in your hand — without the price, without the ethics conversation, and without ever reading “plastic” up close. It’s warm without the bulk real fur carries.
One thing I want every HSW client to know before it arrives: because of how this fabric is made, your piece may look a shade lighter or darker depending on the light it’s in. That’s not inconsistency — that’s what real fur does too.
Luxury isn’t about eliminating variation. It’s about making sure the variation still feels intentional.
