HSW garments are made from fine and often delicate materials. Proper care will help preserve the quality, structure, and finish of your piece for years to come. Always check the care label on your individual garment, which takes precedence over the general guidance below.

Wool

Dry clean only unless otherwise stated on the care label. Air out after wear rather than washing, store folded or on a padded hanger, and use cedar blocks or lavender sachets to deter moths.

Cashmere

Hand wash cold in a gentle wool detergent or dry clean, depending on the care label. Never wring — lay flat to dry on a clean towel, reshaping while damp. Store folded, never hung, to avoid stretching.

Leather

Keep away from prolonged sun exposure, water, and heat sources. Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth and condition periodically with a leather-appropriate product. Professional leather cleaning is recommended for stains or deep cleaning.

Silk

Dry clean only unless the care label states otherwise. Avoid direct contact with perfume, deodorant, and sharp jewelry, which can damage or snag the fibers. Store away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.

Beading & Embellishment

Hand wash or dry clean only, following the care label. Avoid folding along beaded or embellished areas, and store flat or on a padded hanger to prevent thread or bead damage.

Storage

Store garments in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use padded or wooden hangers for structured pieces, and breathable garment bags (not plastic) for longer-term storage. Avoid overcrowding your wardrobe, which can crush delicate fabrics.

Dry Cleaning

When dry cleaning, always inform your cleaner of the fabric composition and any embellishment, and point them to the care label. We recommend a cleaner experienced with luxury and delicate garments.

Steaming

Steaming is generally preferred over ironing for HSW pieces, as it is gentler on delicate fabrics, beading, and structured elements. If ironing is necessary, use a low heat setting with a protective cloth, and always test on an inconspicuous area first.
